Cancer Awareness Initiatives
RCPU places significant emphasis on educating the public about cancer prevention and the importance of early detection. Through nationwide outreach programs, they disseminate information on risk factors, symptoms, and the benefits of regular screenings. These initiatives aim to empower individuals with knowledge, encouraging proactive health behaviours to reduce cancer prevalence.
Screening and Early Detection
Recognizing the critical role of early detection in successful cancer treatment, RCPU organizes medical camps across Uganda, offering free cancer screening services. These camps provide communities with access to essential diagnostic services, facilitating the early identification of cancer cases and improving treatment outcomes. For instance, during the 2023 Rotary Cancer Run, C-Care Uganda, the country’s largest healthcare network, collaborated with RCPU to offer discounted prostate and cervical cancer screenings to hundreds of Ugandans.
